A CALL TO PERSEVERE

Hebrews 10:25  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

lnsight and Highlight

As the day approaches, will you still be in the faith, what will you be found doing or where will you be found?

Scripture Commentaries

To persevere is to continue serving God in spite of challenges and obstacles.

Reminding ourselves as the day approaches is enough to encourage us to persevere since we do not know the exact day or hour of our Lord's return, Matt 24:26.

We must continue in service to the Lord.

If you have put in many years in service, be encouraged, you are too close to give up.

The time to your much-desired hope of Kingdom glory and rewards is little compared to the time of your Christian journey since you started.

To give up now is to lose a life of Kingdom investment both here on earth and eternally, Luke 9:62  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

If you have put in a very short time since you became born again, be committed also to persevering. Be not deceived by the deceitfulness of sin. Be not enticed to go back into sin, 2 Pet 2:21 expresses about those who received Jesus but later fell back, saying

It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to have known it and then to turn away from the holy commandment passed on to them.

Therefore, we must continually stay and stand firm in the faith, Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.

For both young and old believers, Hebrew 6:4-6 warns against wilful and continued sin saying if we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains.

Do not give up. You are closer than you think. Hebrews 10:37 For, "In just a little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay.

Remorse corner

There will remain no longer a sacrifice for sin for those who deliberately sin because, by their willful sin, they had rejected the offering of Jesus as a sacrificial Lamb.

Their rejection had abolished His earlier atonement for their sin.

Call to Word action

2 Peter 2:20 If indeed they have escaped the corruption of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, only to be entangled and overcome by it again, their final condition is worse than it was at first.

The Christian clarion duty

Matthew 24:13  But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

Prayer

Hebrews 10:38  Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Lord, help me to preserve, do not let me fall away, in Jesus' name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
