*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*BRUISED, DEAD, AND LAID.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Isaiah 53:5  *But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.*

*Insight and Highlight.*.

The bruised reed rests today. The Lion sleeps today.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Jesus rests in the tomb today.

The devil and his crucifixion agents must have been rejoicing on a day in time memorial, but as far as the Father was concerned *"......a bruised reed shall he not break,..."*

Jesus was a bruised reed, *"......a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:....."* Isaiah 53:3

Isaiah prophesied many years back that He was bruised for our transgression. He could not be recognized because of the wound He sustained, but the wounds did not stop the perpetrators because it was God's wish that Jesus should die, Isaiah 53: 4-10.

He rests from His bruises caused by the sin of humanity. The wound caused by the transgressions He did not commit, 2 Cor 5:21.

He rests from all His labour, ref Rev 4;13.

What what was good about yesterday, Good Friday?

What was good about a day our Lord died in the most horrible manner?

It is called good because the badness of the day is overshadowed by the good of the sacrificial acts that saved us from sin and thereby opened the way to God for forgiveness and reconciliation.

Without the crucifixion, we can not and will never be reconciled to God and will never have eternal rest with Him.

That Jesus died and rose is the best miracle that has ever happened and will remain so forever!

Today, death and the grave have done their worst, but the best of God is awaiting to destroy them.

Ultimately, the crucifixion became a key part of God's plan for salvation.

If only the devil knew the true nature of the challenges they created for you.

As the devil did not know crucifying Jesus would work for God's plan for us so he does not know what you are going through and the bruises and wounds you have received would work out for good, ref 1 Cor 2:8.

If you are in life's challenges and everything seems to be going out of control, it is only your Good Friday. No matter how bad things may look right now, they are good for you because God will come through for you, Rom 8:28.

He will not break or destroy a bruised/wounded vessel. He will come through for them!

Good Friday was a setback but was a back to sender for the enemies of God

Good Friday teaches us that for every set, there will be a comeback!

*Remorse corner.*

Are things so bad?

Remember, every crucifixion will end with a ressurection

Every Good Friday will end with a Ressurection Sunday!

*Call to Word action.*

Good will always overcome evil. Today may be long while the day itself remains a somber one. However, the good of Good Friday will forever bring the ultimate goodness and benefit of Jesus's sacrifice for humanity.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

By His stripes came healing. By His death, instead of sorrow, we received victory.

Death no longer is a termination but a transition to the presence of God never to die again!

*Prayer.*

As Christ rests in the tomb today, Lord give me rest from my toil, labour, and heavy burden ladened on me while I still live in Jesus name.

Good morning, all, and be blessed as you go today.

God bless you.
