*WISDOM FOR TODAY*
*DOES GOD CHANGE?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Numbers 23:19 *God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?*
*Insight and Highlight.*
God does change His pronounced fierce judgment if we call on Him.
Psalm 86:5 *For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; And plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
God is reliable. He does not deceive.
By His very nature, He is faithful to all His promises. If God declines on His promises, it is not God at fault. We are the ones at fault.
God can not change His standard of holiness, righteous judgment, etc.
God will not lower His standard of holiness and righteous judgment because of anyone.
God can not change, neither will He have respect of persons, Acts 10:34
He is not just a God of equality because we are all made in His likeness, He is also a God of equity.
He is just in all His ways.
However, these attributes of God do not exclude the possibility of God changing His mind or plans under certain circumstances.
God does change after His declared intention to punish, but in His unique attributes, which are peculiar to Him, like His holiness, omnipotence, He does not change.
God can change His plans in regard to judgment as a response to the intercessory prayers of His faithful people.
For example,God was willing to change His plans to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if He found ten intercessors, Gen 18:23-33.
God changed His mind in regard to His judgment as a response to the intercession of Moses, Exd 32, 11, 14.
God changed His mind to destroy Nineveh in response to the repentance of the people, Jonah 3:1-10, 4:2.
So, God does, on occasion, change.
We have a God who is touched by how we feel and does respond in mercy if we repent faithfully, 2 Chro 7:14.
Thank you, Jesus!
*Remorse corner.*
Does God seem unchanged in His displeasure towards you?
Confess, repent, pray more, and worship Him.
*Call to Word action.*
There is no iniquity with God. 2 Chro 19:7
*Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.*
*The Christian Clarion duty.*
God's resolve to change His judgment is reflected in His mercy.
*Prayer.*
Lord, *".....in wrath remember mercy.*
Have mercy on me, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
