GUARD AGAINST UNGUARDED UTTERANCES (7) (A sequel to June 12, 2021)

Proverbs 13:14  The instruction of the wise is like a life-giving fountain; those who accept it avoid the snares of death.

Insight and Highlight

Those with loose tongues can receive help from God.


Scripture Commentaries

The Scripture admonishes those with loose tongues can get help by receiving instruction from the mouth of the righteous.

The wisest option is the word of God. Seek the company of the righteous, avoid people of violence.

Proverbs 10:11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Bible talks about God Personified in Wisdom saying in Proverbs 9:11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

Eccl 10:12 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious, but the lips of a fool consume him.

The mouth of Pharaoh consumed him.

Exodus 10:28  And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.

Moses replied Pharaoh, Exodus 10:29 "....Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more

Their last conversation was in Exd 12:31 when the last plague was unleashed, and Moses saw Pharaoh no more!


Remorse corner

The mouth of the loose tongue will consume him. His mouth is an invitation to Satan to sift him.


Call to Word action

Jesus said to Peter in Luke 22:31  And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

The Christian clarion duty

Peter had no other vernon that would consume him other than his frequent unguarded utterances.


Prayer (ref Prov 4:23, Matt 15:11)

Lord, help me to occupy my heart with Godly thoughts, let me not be defiled by what comes out of my mouth, in Jesus' name.
