IGNORANCE

Proverbs 18:15 ► The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

Insight and Highlight Though God is ancient of days yet He makes things beautiful in its time and makes old thing new. He is up-to-date and can never be out of date or outdated, ref Heb 13:8. Scripture Commentaries Ignorance can be viewed two ways: First, when someone is untaught. A saying goes: it is better to be unborn than be untaught. This is ignorance borne out of lack of an institutionalized education system. Second, there is ignorance that is akin to deliberate neglect of something important. This is ignorance, not borne out of lack of education but due to deliberate neglect of vital information. There are people who are too satisfied with their own opinions and knowledge that they are not prepared to take in other people's opinion or counsel. This category of people may remain perpetually in ignorance. A perfect example are people who fail to adapt to new changes in technology advancement our present environment demands. Educated, yet fools because they are not moving with time. This category of "educated fools" usually stems from arrogance. It is at this juncture that a person feels he is so important that ignorance forms part of his arrogance. People disobeyed traffic laws not because they did not know the law but because they are too nonchalantly arrogant to submit themselves to any law. This is why the law will not accept ignorance as an excuse. The law expects you should know. To fail to know what you are expected to know is considered a deliberate defiance by commission not an omission. People who kill know they should not kill, yet they kill. The bible ascribed those who love God, as lovers of knowledge. The fear of God is the inroad to loving to acquire knowledge. Proverbs 1:7 ► The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. In life there is a saying "necessity is the mother of invention"- meaning primary driving force behind most inventions is a need. Therefore ignoring or ignorance of the directives for effective use of such inventions will frustrate or destroy the purpose for which they were created. Remorse corner Ignorance leads to destruction. Those who reject knowledge are rejected by God: Hosea 4:6 ► My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,... Call to Word action A wise who hear instructions will increase learning: Prov 1:4-5 ► To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: The Christian clarion duty Readers are leaders, leaders are readers. Invest in learning. Read, study and meditate the scripture. Confidence comes with knowledge. You can only acquire knowledge by learning. Prayer Daniel 9:2 ► In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. Lord, give me a heart to give myself to knowledge. Let me study to show myself approved. Let me increase in learning. Let ignorance be far from me, in Jesus name. Good morning all and have a blessed day. God bless you.
