*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*JESUS IS A LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Luke 2:10-11 *And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.*
*For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Rejoice the day you were born!
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Though God commanded light and light did shine, Gen 1:3, the light of life, Gen 1:2, went back to darkness when Adam and Eve sinned in Eden.
John's writing in John 1:9 confirmed that every man that was in the world was in darkness.
So he wrote that Jesus, the true Light came and *"......lighteth every man that cometh into the world.*, John 1:9.
John tells us that through the birth of Jesus, God brought joy to man (that is, the children of men) that light had come, Isaiah 60:1.
No birth received a headsup that took the world's interest as Jesus' ref Matt 2.
Just as the birth of a newly born baby brings life to a marriage and hope to a new generation, so was Jesus's birth. It came with great hope that God was ready to refresh and rekindle the life that died in Eden.
The birth of Jesus tells us how much God loves life and the newly born.
Only the birth of Jesus was recorded in the scriptures *".....with good tidings and with great joy ".....to all people."*
Jesus' birth reminds us of the joy of birth, and His life teaches us that truly life is a mixture of good and evil.
He was born to die, yet He never regretted the day He was born.
He was glad He came to die.
Some scriptures point to this truth.
Matt 20:28 and Mark 4:17 He says He has come to give His life for ransom for many.
John 10:11 says *I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.*
John 15:13 says *Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.*
One may ask saying but that is Jesus!
If you say so, then your faith may be questionable.
It may be that you do not believe what Jesus Himself said and what Paul says in 1 Thess 4:14, that *For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.*
You should know who you believe and for which reason He came for.
He once lived as a man like you.
It is the foundation of our faith that whatsoever we go through today, He went through before.
Hebrews 4:15 *For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.*
He was glad God gave Him life to do what He came to do.
He performed His mission with dedication and commitment, John 4:34.
He declared His mission was complete in four scriptures.
John 17:4 *I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do*
John 18:11 *Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?*
Luke 22:22 *And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!*
John 19:30 *When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.*
His birth was tied to His manifestation (that is, His coming and mission), and each was the reason for the joy to the world.
1 John 3:8 says *"......For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.*
It is God perfect will to bring joy to come with the birth of a newborn, regardless of life's challenges, Gen 1:28.
If He allowed to bring the newborn out of the womb and keeps alive, there must be a reason and a hope for living.
There is hope for living!
*Remorse corner.*
Jesus was joy to the world because there was darkness in the world, ref Gen 1:2, 1 John 5:19.
*Call to Word action.*
Jesus was joy to the world so that He may lighten the world
John 1:9 *That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Do not regret the life God gives you.
Be glad He gave you life to fulfill a purpose.
*Prayer.*
