*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*JESUS IS A LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT (7)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
John 5:21 *For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
The Life-Giving Spirit is life more abundantly.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
God gives life. People die of sickness, depression, disappointments, etc. So anytime we are encouraged, refreshed, healed, or delivered, something transformative has occurred, and life has been given more abundantly.
We must always be grateful for life given, not to be regretted by us or God.
The bible records three regrets of God.
First Genesis 6:6 *And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.*
Second, Matt 18:6 *But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.*
Third, in Matt 26:24, Jesus said *The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.*
It is sad and regrettable that Christ, the Life-Giving Spirit, has some regrets.
It is not that God does not know what He is doing when He creates those He regrets over.
It is we who make ourselves regrettable creations of God.
When we do not live according to God's expectations, He can regret over us, ref 1 Sam 15:11. He also regretted Judas was born, Matt 26:24.
When we are not Kingdom minded, God expresses regrets. Not only when one is not Kingdom minded, but also when one obstructs the ways of others to the Kingdom, Matt 18:6, Matt 23:13.
God regrets when we start but do not finish, Heb 10:38 *Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.*
This year, remember God created you for His pleasure. Rev 4:11 *Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.*
God can not make any mistake. We do.
God knows those who do not deserve to live.
You are not one of them.
Remember, God has alternatives of those that have breath who do not praise Him.
Isaiah 55:12, says, *The mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.*
Psalm 148:9 says *Praise him, all you mountains and hills.*
Psalm 114:4 says *The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.*
In His entry into Jerusalem, the Pharises rebuked His disciples when they were praising Him to hold their peace.
In Lk 19:40, Jesus rebuked *".....if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.*
This year, appreciate the Life- Giving Spirit of Christ.
This year, remember the words of Hezekiah, King of Judah. He said to God in Isaiah 38:18-19 *For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.*
*The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day......"*
For this confession, among many others, God gave Hezekiah life more abundantly.
God knew losing Hezekiah would mean the loss of one of those who praise Him.
Hezekiah's life teaches us that a life of praise can be a function of longevity and abundant life.
He is willing to give you life more abundantly if He sees that your life brings praise to Him.
A life that does not praise God will not glorify Him.
Live a life that praises Him. He will, among other many virtues, keep and give you life more abundantly.
*Remorse Corner.*
While non-living things are recorded to praise God in the Scriptures, God specially called for those who have breath to praise.
A special privilege!
*Call to Word action.*
Psalm 150:6 *Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Christ gave His life for you to have life more abundantly!
1 Cor 6:20 *For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.*
*Prayer.*
Lord, l thank You for not regretting You gave me life. Thank you for giving me life more abundantly in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
