*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*JUSTICE FOR THE OPPRESSED.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Isaiah 42:3 *A bruised reed shall he not break and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
God will bring justice to the oppressed.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
For every oppression we face from the enemies of Christ, God promises justice.
Those who are weak and vulnerable can speak as Paul wrote in 2 Cor 4:8-9.
The hope of deliverance and God's ultimate
justice now and in the world to come gives the believer the confidence as Paul wrote: *We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;*
*Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;*
God fulfills His promises, and so does He fulfill justice. Fulfilling justice is part of His total promises.
When we give up fighting or because we are distressed, forsaken by friends, or cast down and eventually succumb to the enemy, there is nothing for God to fight for on our behalf. There is no justice expected from God.
When we give up resisting the enemy, there is nothing left for God to do for us.
The danger of retreating or accepting defeat of the enemy is to release dominion to Satan.
However, Paul is teaching us that though we go through all these, we ought not be *"..... in despair......"* or *".......destroyed...."*
Isaiah 42:3 tells us that though God's soldiers are bruised or wounded, God will not allow their lights to go out, and He will not rest until He avenges for them.
In Isaiah 62:1 *For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.*
Paul teaches us not to be afraid of bruises or wounds that may be left after enemy attacks.
He says they are proofs of our suffering with Christ. Oftentimes, bruises, scars, and wounds are testimonies.
He says in 2 Cor 4:10-11.
*Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.*
*For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.*
He says in Galatia 6:17.
*From henceforth let no man trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.*
Are you going through pain or oppression?
Are you wounded in the battle of life?
God never adds to people's problems. He
will not further injure or extinguish those who are weak and fragile, but instead, will gently nurture and see you through your bad times.
Give some reasons for God to fight for you.
Remaining still, Exd 14:13-14, Psa 46:10, or resisting the devil, Jam 4:7, or retreating Matt 2:13–23, are products of fighting the enemy when you are under divine instruction to do so.
Are you a bruised reed? Or a smoking flax whose light is about to go out?
These are distressful times but run to God. Do not run away from Him!
When you do, your enemies receive judgment, and you get justice.
*Remorse corner.*
You can be sure that no matter how the enemy bruises a believer, he will receive justice from God.
*Call to Word action.*
Instead of turning away from God because you are weak, run to God for strength.
Let the weak say l am strong! There is justice for every believer
*Prayer.*
Lord, keep me safe and give me justice over my enemies in Jesus name.
Good morning, and be blessed as you go today.
God bless you.
