Prov 6:23-24
*For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:*
*To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.*

The commandment of God will keep you from the strange woman, but your disobedience will make you fall into her hands.

The sin of fornication and adultery requires not just the awareness of it. It goes beyond Solomon's wisdom if not so Solomon will not fall into the same sin he once preached and wrote about.
Solomon failed to walk in the same admonition he wrote about.
He, however, makes it clear in Prov 6:32, among many other admonitions he wrote.
He says whoso commits adultery has no sense. He/she may be brilliant, a scholar, an inventor, a genius, etc.
Solomon is saying he/she has just signed a death warrant for him/herself. Of truth, this person is living on borrowed time.
Solomon uses the man as the culprit here, but both are intertwined in this henious sin because it takes two to commit adultery.
Prov 6:32 *But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding; he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.*
God is warning us that this sin requires the highest standard of teaching, warnings, and understanding.
That we should not commit this sin among many others is one of God's highest expectations of the believer.
The shame this sin brings is so bad that the outward shame is much. Worse is the spiritual loss of a relationship with God.
Sexual sin under the New Testament is often the end and the major interruption of the flow of the Holy Spirit. It is a shutdown of leadership roles of the affected party.
It is usually a scandal of monumental proportion, often with the adverse effect of not going away for a long time to come. It is a stigma and a cancer that parades the corridors of the church.
This sin has been known to destroy churches of many years of success in one day that it was exposed.
Prov 6: 33 says *A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.*
Many are still working with the stigma, though they have been restored, and many have ended ministry because of the shame and dishonor it brought.
Prov 6: 34-35 says further that the
man who commits adultery with another woman will attract the jealousy of the substantive husband, and his rage will pursue vengeance. There is no apology or gift or manipulation that could stop or pacify this rage. He or she who committed adultery must be punished.
Prov 6;34 *For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.*
*He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.*
Many people have been killed by passion killers who killed because their partners are caught with other men or vice versa, and many are on the hit list of jealous partners.
Most dangerous is being on God's 'hit list' as an adulterer or fornicator!
Stop lying in wait at your neighbor's doors.
Stop it and repent today!
