Scripture Commentaries
Many do not want to serve but wish to be served.
If you are patient, you will wait. If you are patient, it will not be a struggle to wait
Though not stated as such in the scriptures, patience is a virtue. It is a product of longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance. In truth, there is no fruit of the Spirit in Gal 5: 22-23 that does not carry along with it the goodwill of patience.
A patient person, is strong in character. He is endowed with the grace to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without losing his temperament.
It is patience that helps one to endure. It does good works in controlling anger.
It is patience that evokes The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression,Prov 19:11.
Remorse corner
The Scriptures encourage that the test of our faith produces patience.
Our faith succeeds when we overcome trials. Our overcoming is the result is the ability to endure patiently.
Call to Word action
Though the journey may appear long, patience helps you to forebear. It is the healer and assurance in times of delay.
Romans 8:25 – But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
The Christian clarion duty
It is a condition to receiving from God.
Heb 10:36, 38– For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Prayer
Psalm 25:3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
Lord endow me with the fruit of the Spirit. Let me exercise patient waiting acceptable to You and enough to receive your promises, in Jesus name.
