Scripture Commentaries

The life of Saul, his reign, temperament, and his eventual destruction still stand as a prime lesson for believers and everyone in all walks of life.

King Saul's gloomy, angry, nervous, envious, hateful temperament were peculiar vices to his demonic influences.

The Spirit of God, who was once with Saul, departed him because of these evil vices.

His evil heart bred fertile grounds for vices to thrive. These alike made him a victim of malady, gave way to evil spirits to operate under the permissive will of God.

We must not allow evil vices of anger, hate, jealousy, disappointment, relationship breakups, etc.., to take hold of us. Besides what the Bible records about king Saul, these vices have been known and proven today as one of the major causes affecting the mind and thinking faculties of people, which often results in madness.

If you have the Spirit of God and you allow these roots of bitterness, God can remove His Spirit in order to allow for evil spirits who operate under these bad influences to take over you.

This will not be your portion, in Jesus' name.

Be careful, purge yourself of laying a foundation on which evil vices will thrive.

Matt 7:17 Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Remember Psalm 24: 3-4  Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Purify your heart, James 4:8

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.

Remorse corner

As Saul's sad life advanced, the nobler traits in his character grew fainter, and evil in him became stronger and grew more and more obvious. He became prey to insanity in one form or another.

Call to Word action

Galatians 5:9  A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

The Christian clarion duty

Proverbs 4:18  But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Prayer

Lord, do not take your Spirit away from me. Do not permit an evil spirit to trouble me with insanity, in Jesus' name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
