Mark 10:51-52 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way.
Insight and Highlight
To be able to stagger not at the promise of God through unbelief; remain strong in faith, giving glory to God;....be fully persuaded that, what God had promised, He is able also to perform, is faith, ref Rom 4 20-22.
Scripture Commentaries
Blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was a roadside beggar. He heard Jesus was passing through Jericho, he cried out on Jesus son of David to have mercy on him.
He was told to keep quiet, but he cried the more.
Jesus asked him ....What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?..". He replied that he may receive his sight.
The Scripture records "And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way.", Mark 10:46-52.
We see several lessons that persistent faith does bring about perfection:
First, blind Bartimaeus could not see yet believed.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Second, blind Bartimaeus only heard Jesus was in Jericho, passing by but how did he know Jesus was the Son of David?
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of
God.
Third, blind Bartimaeus was asked to keep quiet but he persevered and cried out the more. He did not throw away his confidence in the Son of David.
Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away, therefore, your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
There is no situation so bad that God cannot visit or attend to.
Step up your faith, believe, and walk in His will, you will receive His visitation, in Jesus' name.
Remorse corner
The faith of blind Bartimaeus teaches that the despondent can become responsive. The despondent can become the respondent in spite of resistance.
