*THE KISS OF BETRAYAL.*

Luke 22:48 *But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?*

Hardly would an enemy show resentment to betray you. They will choose a more silent, gentle, and subtle way to betray.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
The kiss of Judas has often been described in one other way as the kiss of death.
Whichever way we describe it, it is the kiss that gave Jesus away.
Judas told the Jews in Matt 26:48 *Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.*
There are people who are close to you, but you must determine whether or not they are too close for comfort.
On the other hand, however, at times, we need Judas's kiss to move us into the plan and purposes of God.
Jesus said about His betrayal in Matt 26:56 *But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.*
He was the closest to Jesus, not among the disciples but amongst the bands of other betrayers.
The life of Judas teaches us many things.
With Jesus, He was prepared for His betrayal, but such betrayals like Judas' catch many of us unawares.
Let us be careful.
Be encouraged, however, that not everyone close to you is evil.
There are good people who genuinely love you. They are God sent, and may you be surrounded by such people.

A lesson we can learn is that your joy can be a source of bitterness to other people.
In spite of Christ's ministry of healing, the Jews wanted Him dead.
*Call to Word action.*
While Christ was overwhelmed with pain to Calvary, His pains gave the Roman soldiers and many around Him joy. The people cried in Luke 23:21 *".....saying, Crucify him, crucify him.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Christ's joy of salvation to mankind gave Satan trouble 1 Cor 2:8.
Remember, in life, your pains and problems will give some people joy, and your joy will give some people problems.
Beware of Judas's kiss!

Lord, save me from evil that appears like love, in Jesus name.
