*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*THE LIGHT CAN NOT LOSE HIS POWER.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
John 1:5 *And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Only the Light can remove darkness.
*Scripture Treasure.*
Though light varies in power, no matter how little light may be, it will still shine its power over darkness.
Thick darkness will pave the way to a spark of light that strikes.
Just as we look for the slightest opportunity to strike a match or light a candle in the midst of darkness so does God require we endeavor to look for Jesus, the Light, when we are surrounded by darkness.
As the source of light (for example, a match, a switch or a touch/flash light) remains as it is if we do not look for or make efforts to light it up in darkness so may the Light refrain from lightening up our darkness if we do not call on Him.
Matt 7:7-8 tells us to ask, and we shall be given. Matt 17:21 tells us that mountains of impossibility do not move if we do not pray.
God uses several examples of light.
The candle light, Matt 5:14-16, the lamp, Psalm 119:105, the light as powerful that no man can look at or approach, 1 Tim 6:16.
Christ wants us to know the evil of darkness for us to understand the power of the light.
Jesus is the Light of the world, but He made us know that children of men love darkness more than light. Why?
Jesus tells us in John 3:19 *And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.*
Jesus's plan is to bring light into our darkness .
He said the light He brought *"......shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."*
He brought light, but darkness is, however, in our world. Isaiah 60:2 says ,"For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people......"*
There is murder, kidnapping, rape, mass shooting, accidents, fire outbreaks, wars, and earthquakes. These and many other works of the flesh.
Is Jesus, as the Light, not able to overcome darkness as He said He would?
Is the devil in control of the world?
Jesus says Satan is the ruler, the prince of this world, John 12:31;14:31; 16:11.
Jesus says Satan has powers, evil powers over this earthly realm, Eph 6:12.
The most important answer to the above questions is that Jesus as Light can overcome darkness.
The devil may appear to be in control of the earthly realm, Eph 2:2, but he is not in absolute control. His powers are limited.
The devil could only have the power to do as he wishes only under God's permission, Job 1:12.
Jesus still controls absolutely. He has power over witches and wizards.
Col 2:10 says Christ *"....is the head of all principality and power."*
So, how does the light shine and darkness could not comprehend it when darkness is all over?
The following will help us understand that though darkness still has a ruling power in the world but God still rules.
First, the word of God is still true that light shines, and darkness can not overcome it.
Isaiah 60:1-2 tells us there is gross darkness in our world, but the light has come. No matter the impact of darkness, God still reigns.
Isaiah says *Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.*
*For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.*
Second, though darkness impacts the world we live in, God has made us the light of the world, but we must command the light to shine!
The light may not shine if we do not command it.
The light can not shine if we hide ourselves, Matt 5:14-16.
While Jesus is the Light, He still requires that we pray against the gate of hell, acquire weapons, not carnal, but spiritual *".....mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)*, 2 Cor 10: 4, ref Matt 11:12.
Isaiah 13:10; 60:19, Matt 24:29, Job 9:27 tells us what God can do or refuse to do. Job tells us that God can command the sun not to shine if He wishes.
Job was not saying God would do so because there is a covenant with David, Jer 33:20 but Job was simply telling us that Jesus as the Light may not shine over darkness if we do not call Him.
Job 9:27 says God *"Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars."*
God has absolute power, but the light may not shine over our darkness if we do not pray.
The bible teaches us of people whom God, in response to their prayers, gave light to overcome their dark hours, Abraham, Rebecca, Jacob, Moses Jabez, Elijah, etc.
While Jesus remains the Light, He still commands the children of light to shine but not hide and call on the Light to shine over our dark world.
John 12:46 further tells us how important we must call on Jesus. If you believe He is the Light, you will call on Him, and when you do, you will not remain in darkness.
Jesus says *l am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.*
When we call on the Light to shine, there will be no room for darkness!
*Remorse corner.*
Are you calling on the Light to shine over your darkness?
John 1:12 *But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:*
*Call to Word action.*
Are you hiding your light under the bushels?
If you do, it may be that you do not have the light to command the Light.
Isaiah 45:11
*Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Jesus is the Light.
He can not lose His power!
*Prayer.*
Lord, let Your Light shine over any darkness around me, in Jesus name
Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
