*THE SLAVE GIRL WITH A MANDATE.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

2 Kgs 5:2-4

*And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.*

*And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.*

*And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Children of God must know that there are God's mysteries and perfect plans behind where they find themselves.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The story of the slave girl in Naaman's household teaches us several lessons such as obedience, humility, faith, trusting God, God's ability to heal anyone who seeks healing (though Syria was an enemy of Israel), the evil of personal gain, greed, God's power in seemingly impossible situations etc.

In addition to the aforementioned, there are lessons that are circumstantial and relate to our day to day challenges.

There are four additional lessons, but we will mention one today.

The first is the importance of service regardless of our challenges.

We can not overemphasize this importance.

Many people may have lost their lives or are in serious danger because we fail to continue to serve God because of our challenges.

Christ's mandates are forsaken when we forsake or abandon His service.

Rom 8:19 tells us that *"....creation waits in eager expectation....."*. Though it refers to the anticipation of a future event fully revealed in their glorified state, but it also tells us the expectation of the revelation/ manifestation of the children of God to be revealed in restoring those who are lost and give them hope.

The slave girl manifested as a child of God to the ailing Naaman in a land of captivity. She transformed his life. She did not forsake God's mandate to heal, restore, and bring people to the power of God.

The unnamed Israelite girl, a captive in Naaman's household, played a crucial role in the healing of Namaan. Her persistence in service, despite being taken away captive and forever separated from her family, enabled her to become a witness for God in her most difficult and deplorable state. She suggested that her master, Namaan, seek Elisha.

Oftentimes, we are angry with God, with ourselves and others asking why He had allowed some bad or unpleasant situations to happen to us.

It is a story of God's hidden mystery of how bad things happen to God fearing people and how God fearing people turn bad situations to good.

The slave girl's story teaches us that we can only make good bad situations if we persist in service rather than be overwhelmed by the bad situations we find ourselves.

Esther was in the palace, not so much as bad as the slave girl in slavery but she was made to understand that if help did not come from her, it would come from elsewhere. Shushan was not her home, but she manifested along with Mordecai as children of God to restore the Jewish people in the land of captivity, Esther 4-10.

Oftentimes, adversity brings us into the midst of people who need our help.

Joseph in prison was an example of how imprisonment brought him in contact with people who needed help, Gen 39-40.

Adversity brought David into the midst of

men in distress, including those who were indebted or discontented, 1 Sam 22:2.

The story of the slave girl teaches us how God by His providence brings His children to where they can be of help to those who need it.

If we fail to walk into the midst of those who need restoration or fail to reach out to them, God may occasion situations that may bring us into their midst.

Are you still asking God why He has allowed some bad things to happen in your life?

*Remorse corner.*

Ask God to open your eyes rather than allow your situation to close your eyes to God's plans for you in difficult circumstances.

*Call to Word action.*

The story of the slave girl was so important that God made it a memoriam in His inspired word because it was transformational.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

You are where you are because God wants you to give someone life by transformation.

*Prayer.*

Lord, let where I find myself be according to Your will. Help me to understand my placement or where I find myself, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
