Isaiah 6:1-6:
*In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.*
*Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.*
*And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.*
*And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.*
*Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.*

Who am l, O Lord?
*Scripture Commentaries.*
There are serious dangers and threats we pose to ourselves when we do not know what God says about us.
Having a clear revelation of who we are from God's standards of view is key to the successful survival of any vessel if he is to be successful as a vessel of honour unto God and to the people he is sent.
A divine disclosure of our persons is crucial to our spiritual existence.
It is not worth the while to parade ourselves as achieving and successful when God sees us differently.
In Isaiah 6, Isaiah discovered who God was and who he was himself.
Many people know who they are or claim to know God and what they are capable of doing, but they do not know God at all.
God wanted Isaiah to be who a true vessel of God really was, hence the revelation He gave him.
God does not want us to ever pretend or act in a pretext that is known to be false with the intent that other people may believe to act upon or relate with us as genuine.
Often, people know who they are but pretend they are God's, but God does not know them at all as His vessel.
Jesus' statement in Matt 7:21-23 *".....l never knew you:.....",* is best understood as Jesus saying He had never known them from the day they started to parade themselves as His vessels.
God can not lie, Numb 23:19, Titus 1:2, and Heb 6:18. We are the ones who lie, Rom 3:4.
We love fame and this temporary earth more than eternal rest with God ref Mk 8:36.
Isaiah did not lie, and he immediately, openly and well, documented himself for eternal purpose that "woe is he'!
God uses the life of Isaiah to teach us the importance of God's revelation of Himself to us and also the importance of discovering ourselves if we are to discover other people successfully.
When he saw the Lord, he said *".....Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.."* Is 6: 1-5.
However, why did Isaiah not see the revelation of God until the death of King Uzziah?
King Uzziah was a righteous king who was very successful, and he feared God. The prophet Zechariah made a great spiritual impact in his life. He, however, became proud, wanting to be king and priest at the same time, so God struck him with leprosy, and he died, 2 Chro 26, ref Ezk 46:2.
While it remains true that the death of Uzziah opened Isaiah's life and his eventual commission it remains true that irrespective of who leads us and how righteous they may be we all must seek God for a revelation of who we are personally.
Isaiah may have over-indulged himself with the respect for Uzziah's righteous reign before he met his untimely death.
We must never cease to pray for God's revelation of ourselves.
It is true that God's righteousness on a leader can provide covering for his subjects/followers but not praying for a revelation of who we are as followers may be counted as honoring our leader's God given righteousness over us than God's.
Having a lot of respect for them is good, and knowing they are God's is good, but what does God say about you, yourself?
Some people often speak of the covering of a righteous leader over them. This is good and well acceptable to God, but you must, however, help the leader by further praying for him while you also pray that God will help you to be part of the success story.
Some true leaders may be short-lived or not completely fulfilled if God sees too much reliance on them that makes the people forget that there is a God of the man of God.
God took King Uzziah away, and God appeared to Isaiah.
Another explanation of God revealing Himself to Isaiah after King Uzzah's death could be God's perfect timing of events.
If the King died of leprosy of which God struck him, God may be telling Isaiah He would do worse judgment if the people would not change from their evil ways.
As He appeared in His holiness, He may also be revealing Himself in judgment.
So Uzziah's death was not a concidence, nor was his life an obstacle to Uzziah seeing the Lord, but it may be God's way to reveal there would be more severe judgment if people persisted in unrighteousness
The revelation of God that lsaiah had never seen was made known to him.
Once he saw God, he confessed his unclean lips and the uncleanness of the people.
He pronounced sadness, regret, condemnation upon himself, and found himself totally unworthy before God.
His admission and confession prevented further judgment. The Lord touched his lips, and his iniquity was taken away, and he was purged of his sin, Is 6:7.
It was after this that He heard God in His holiness as a vessel chosen unto holiness.
How many people are as truthful as Isaiah?
God would often choose to reveal Himself to us, but how often do we reject or resist what He says about us?
Be truthful to yourself as Isaiah was. What does God say about you or you are not bothered to ask?
*Remorse corner.*
It is important that you receive a revelation of who you are before God.
*Call to Word action.*
It is worth asking God who you are or else you may be living on borrowed time and wasting your time thinking you are serving God.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Pray for yourself daily, asking God to reveal your true self to you.
*Prayer.*
Lord, reveal myself to me. Help me to make immediate change if l am against Your will, in Jesus name.
Good morning, and be blessed as you go today.
God bless you.
