WHAT IS YOUR SECRET? (3)

Prov 25:2 says "lt is the glory of God to conceal a thing:...."

Insight and Highlight

Is it good to keep secrets and not share at all? Remember vital information shared is not secret betrayed.

Scripture Commentaries

Prov 25:2 says it is the glory of God to conceal a thing. It, therefore, goes to say we can conceal a secret, only to the glory of God.

We need to bear in mind that vital information shared is not secret betrayed. It is different from when we say a person shares the secrets of another person.

True secrets are beneficial, they are not destructive. Evil secrets are plots and when shared with you, you will not be betraying if you shared to save a life. You have not betrayed but have revealed a lifesaver, ref Jam 4:17. Eph 5:11 says "And do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even expose them.

Jonathan's revelation of an evil plot to David is a good and perfect example of evil secrets revealed to save a life, 1 Sam 19:2.

We need to know God shares secrets.

All we need in life is a true, God-fearing confidant.

Some scriptures that point to God's share is in Psalm 25:14.

In Dan 2:22, Daniel says He reveals deep and hidden things.

In Hab 2:2, we see how God encourages vision and secret things be shared ref Hab 2:2.

In Amos 3:7, He shares with His prophets.

In Gen 18:17-19 He said about Abraham in "Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; …"

Be careful, however. If secrets have to be shared just make sure you share with the God-fearing. At times sharing them may be the way to your own success and safety.

God does encourage sharing.

Remember Prov 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors, there is safety.

Prov 15:22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors, they are established.

folly.

Proverbs 24:6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in a multitude of counselors, there is safety.

Scripture advises that no secret is hidden:

Solomon says what you consider a secret in your heart or the words spoken in your room is prone to spreading. He says in Eccl 10:20 "....for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.

Even the Holy Spirit reveals secrets of men, 2 Kgs 6:12.

There are some problems people keep to themselves as secrets.

Be careful does not to to keep more than is required to save you.

There is a saying with goes "problem shared is a problem solved". Many have died and suffered great tragedies in life because they kept to themselves secrets they ought to have shared.

I know many have betrayed the trust you had in them, but it is better safe and safe to share with someone than to keep to yourself.

Remorse corner

You can receive help. No one is an island. We are interdependent creations of God.

Call to Word action

God made us so. Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Only burden shared is burden known and solved.

The Christian clarion duty

Share your secrets to those who are true burden bearers, Do not die in silence.

Prayer

Lord, lead me. Let me not hide what is needful to save my life and the life of someone, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
