*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHO IS YOUR DELIVERER?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Psalm 18:2 *The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Only in Jesus is deliverance assured.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
There is a saying of the elders, which goes that 'instead of a socialite to steal, his death is better than his shame'.
Though shame is never good for anyone, people who experience shame come out of it. People who, however, kill themselves because of shame will suffer worse than shame but damnation eternally.
Shame does exist, but the bible tells us that
instead of shame, you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace, you will rejoice in your inheritance.
So though shame may come, Isaiah 67: 7 says *For your shame ye shall have double; ....."*
People choose death as their last hope to deliver them from shame, pain, or challenges.
The only deliverer that people wish to come upon them in this world of pain is death. Many people believe that death is the end of suffering.
Some even run to Satan for deliverance, ref 1 Sam 28.
If some think death is the end of bondage, they should remember that there is One greater than death. He has power over death. He conquered death.
He has the key of death and Hades.
Revelation 1:18 stays *I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.*
He has ultimate control and authority over death and the afterlife, having conquered both through his death and resurrection.
Never see death as the end of suffering.
To the Christian, it is a rest from all their labours and the beginning of life eternal.
It is a transition, not a termination.
To the unbeliever, it is the beginning of torment. A life in the eternity of hell that is unending.
The sting of death is sin ref Rom 6:23.
The consequence or reward of sin is death unto eternal damnation. So those who seek it in order to free themselves will be rewarded with damnation.
Jesus, however, says in Him death has no sting, and the grave will not keep the believer forever or keep him away from eternal life with Jesus.
1 Cor 15:55-56 *O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?*
*The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.*
The story of Lazarus and the rich man tells us that death does not end poverty.
Though he was told there was a gulf between him and Lazarus, the rich man was still with the mentality of sending for Lazarus to cool his tongue with water.
Lk 16:24 *And he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.*
Joshua cursed the Gibeonites that their generation would be hewers of stone and Joshua 9:27 says they shall be *".....hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the Lord, even unto this day,....."*
This is an example of a generational curse.
The death of the generation cursed did not prevent future generations from suffering the same fate.
Death does not end generational curses of any kind.
It does not end hardships or sorrow. Death does not end grief, nor does it end prosperity. The generation from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob, who became Israel.
Cry to God for deliverance. Do not cry for death or ask to end it all to finish and go.
Rev 21:4 tells us that only God can wipe away tears. Only He can stop death. Death can not wipe away sorrow. It will still repeat itself.
*And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.*
John says in Revelation 14:13 that only those who died in the Lord, not those who killed themselves or died without Christ, will rest from their labours
John says *And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.*
Only Jesus can deliver you. He will not only deliver you but also generations after you.
Death can not deliver you from life's trouble or suffering. It is only temporal.
Do not force it or call for it to happen.
Are you worried? Call on God.
Death offers no solution. Do not look up to death to give you the mercy of putting an end to your problems.
Only Jesus can save.
*Remorse corner.*
Deliverance is only in Jesus.
*Call to Word action.*
God will give you deliverance now and even in death.
Job 19:25-26 *For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:*
*And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Psalm 116:14: *Indeed, you delivered my soul from death, my eyes from crying, and my feet from stumbling.*
*Prayer.*
Lord, be my deliverer. I shall live and not die, in Jesus name.
Good morning, all, and be blessed as you go today.
God bless you.
