WHEN GOD VISITS, WILL YOU BE READY?

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

Genesis 18:1-2  And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground.

Insight and Highlight

Your appreciation is an application for divine allocation of blessings.

Gen 18:3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant.

Scripture Treasure

From the account of the three-men visitation to Abraham, we can learn than God visits people bodily.

God visits people through people.

There are people God uses as carriers of His similitude. They come our way but we miss them for lack of good attitude. Some may be of good morals but lack hospitality or lack the qualities of provoking the blessings God brings their ways through fellow human beings.

Attitudinal qualities, like respectful dispositions, hospitality, charity are key to receiving blessings.

Abraham saw the three men. Bible records,

"....he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground," Gen 18:12.

He not only did this, he also in humility asked they pass him not by, he fetched a meal for them; "...a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant" Gen 18:5.

Abraham and wife prepared a sumptuous meal and "...set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat", Gen18:8.

Abraham perceived the visitation was unusual. He was not being familiar with routine, he knew everything with God is new everyday. Though he knew God but was not being too familiar.

Many of us overindulge. We are too familiar with God that even when He visits us through fellow human beings, we do not see any good thing they do or ever did. What a calamity?

It happened in Jesus' days, Mark 6:4 Then Jesus told them, "A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.”

Prepare daily for the time of visitation from God that will change and transform your life. When God visits, will you be ready?

Be prepared, do not miss it!

Remorse Corner

Be kind to people that come your way.

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Call to Word action

Matt 10:40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

The Christian clarion duty

You do not know the time of your visitation.

Some were visited by God bodily but the visitors went back with the blessing meant for them.

Matt 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

Prayer

Lord help me. Let me not miss my day of visitation. Let not ingratitude, unkindness and inhospitality stand in my way to receiving from You, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
