Matthew 23:38-39 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Insight and Highlight
When God chooses a time to visit you but you were not responsive to Him, you have only indicated His time of visitation is insufficient for you. God is ready, but are you? Be ready when He is ready
Scripture Commentaries
Jesus's word in our text of today informs us, first, that there is a day which God chooses to visit a person.
Second, if this person misses the day of his visitation, it may never come again. Jesus, when He looked at the desolation of Jerusalem wished they had listened to the prophets. He says, if they had, He would
".... have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings,...." Now, their houses are desolate. Too late!. They will not see Him, henceforth, Matt 23: 37-39.
In Matt 13:58, Jesus said, that the people did not give honor to the prophet in his hometown. "...did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief."
We must always remember, when God is hindered, it is not for lack of His power, but for lack of our moral conditions.
How are you prepared morally to receive His visitation?
Remorse corner
Remember, God's way of dealing with us is through His best-chosen way good for us, if we fail to accept, He will not force conviction upon us.
Call to Word action
God can never be discouraged by our lack of morals. Despite those who rejected His visitation, Christ still went ahead preaching.
Mark 6:6 And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
The Christian clarion call
Whatever anyone whom God plans to use or bless refuses, He immediately offered to another.
Prayer
Lord, the miracle meant for me, do not give to another, in Jesus' name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
