Deuteronomy 34:9 Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites obeyed him and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.

2 Kgs 2:6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
Scripture Treasure
Discipled servants of father-mentors do have another spirit different from others.
Elisha's spirit was different from the other prophets of his time. The other prophets stood to watch Elisha, they were not part of the action, 2 Kgs 2:5, 7.
Truly mentored servants were in tune with their mentors. Scripture says about Elijah and Elisha " they two went on". They went together as they had done from the beginning: 1 Kgs 19:21 "....Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him. (see also, 2 Kgs 2:6, Amos 3:3.)
God referred to Caleb as a man with "....another spirit..." Numb 14:24.
When the time of a much greater responsibility came, God said to Moses, "...Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;" Numb 27:18.
The spirit in Caleb was called "...another spirit.." in Numb 14:24 and God said of Joshua in Numb 27:18 "....a man in whom is the spirit...
The spirit was good enough to make Joshua the successor of Moses. The spirit is the Spirit of leadership, the Spirit Himself, in the life of Joshua.
Why did God say Caleb had another spirit and of Joshua a man who is the spirit? By "another spirit and "one in whom the spirit is" is meant - the faithful spirit.
One that was different from the common rebellious spirit prevalent among the majority of the Israelites in the wilderness.
Joshua and Caleb stood out and they became standards by which faithful service was measured. Exd 33:11 says when Moses was talking to God on Mount Sinai "...his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle."
What kind of spirit do you have?
Is it one God can endorse enough to trust you with the service of His people?

Joshua observed the ways of Moses throughout and so did Elisha on Elijah. They reaped honor.
Prov 27:18 Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honored.
Call to Word action
A disciple who pleases and is patiently disciplined will receive a father's blessing.
2 Timothy 1:2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Christian clarion duty
Every servant leader will be traced to at least one mentor: Paul says in 1 Cor 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Proverbs 27:18 Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof:...."
Lord, let me reap the good fruit of obedient stewardship. As l nurture in your service, let me eat the fruit of diligent service, in Jesus name.
