The power of Christ's sacrifice has no purchasing power.
Scripture Commentaries
The scripture says we are saved by grace, not of any human works. Our salvation is a gift of God, Eph 2:8.
No Kingdom gifts of callings, spiritual gifts, privileges can be purchased, may it be by silver or gold. None can buy the blessings offered in Christ, Acts 3:6.
Christ's name is far above rubies:
Prov 3:14-15 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, And the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: And all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
Freely we have been given and so we give,
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
The "price" we pay is total surrender to Christ expressed in commitment and dedication. This is Christ's expectation of His followers. Luke 14:27.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
You also can be invaluable, indispensable, missed when absent. Make an impact.
Christ died that you may live.
Christ was freely sacrificed that you may freely serve.
Remorse corner
If salvation were at a price, people would buy it. Since sin is not negotiable, salvation cannot be based on a negotiable medium of exchange. As good as money is, it is corruptible but we are of the incorruptible
Money answers all things (Eccl 10:19) but does not solve all things.
Call to Word action
Anything expressed in monetary value is valuable based on what we offer to buy them. No matter how expensive, they are still expressed in monetary terms. Money itself can be of no use, though enough to pay medical bills yet inadequate to bring healing. Worst is when there is a lack of it, Prov 23:5.
The Christian clarion duty
1 Cor 16:10 Now if Timotheus comes, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.
Anything money cannot buy is above anything money can buy.
Indispensable services are services money cannot buy so also those who provide them are invaluable, you cannot place a monetary value on them.
Prayer
Lord, choose to reward me. Give me the grace to pay the "price" of self-surrender to Your service, in Jesus name.
