1 Sam 3: 12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.
For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.
And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
Insight and Highlight
God gives up on those whose sins have reached a point of no return.
Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
Scripture Commentaries
When a heart is in rebellion against God, God does issue warnings by declaration through His prophets, dreams, visions, etc.
No one can stand God's anger. It is fierce indignation, it is terrible. God is loving, He is long-suffering, patient too, 2 Pet 3:9, but He is also a consuming fire, Heb 12:29.
Nahum warns us saying:
Nahum 1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
If you are not walking in the will of God, there must be warnings out for you from the Lord.
Take heed of His warning, do not resist, submit yourself to Him and repent today.
There will come a time when no warnings or visions will be made known to you, 1 Sam 3:1.
There may be a time when prayers for the obstinate soul are not welcome by God, Jer 7:16. 11:16.
Be not unreachable, be not unteachable.

But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Prayer
Hebrews 10:28-29 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses.
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, ..."
Lord, help me to heed to Godly rebuke, let me not resist Your call for repentance. Let me not see your indignation, in Jesus name.
