WHEN THE CROSS BECOMES A REJOICING

Galatians 6:17 From henceforth let no man trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

Insight and Highlight

At the foot of the cross, the cross becomes a rejoicing.

Scripture Commentaries

The cross represents suffering.

The believer, every day carries around in his body the death of Jesus, so that the life, the pains, and challenges of Jesus may also be revealed in his body, ref 2 Cor 4:10.

Jesus commanded we carry this cross, Matt 16:24.

It is a Kingdom condition we are commanded to obey if we are to reign with him. Rom 6:5 says For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection.

When you carry your cross, friends may depart you, marriages are broken because couples do not agree to the callings of either husband or wife. Family relationships are also affected Luke 14:26.

The cross is heavy and burdensome. As you carry it, you trip over, fall, wounded, weep, etc. You do this all alone. No matter how much comfort you are offered, your comforters may be miserable comforters adding more to your pain than expected ref Job 16:2.

Some people will offer true words of comfort but they cannot feel your pain as much as you do.

Most gruesome is, most people do not associate with you in your sufferings. Cursed is the one who hangs on it, Gal 3:13. However, when your cross comes to rejoicing, many people will come and join in your celebration. Jesus bore the pain at the calvary, but we now receive joy through the cross at the calvary.

Remorse corner

Jesus does not want us to carry our burdens forever. If you choose to lay it down at the foot of the cross, you will rejoice as Christ gives you rest.

Call to Word action

Surrender your heavy loads to Christ today.

1 Peter 5:7 says Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for us”. Just throw it on him, and let him carry your burdens. Jesus said we could cast all of our cares on him because he cares for us!

The Christian clarion duty

If you are carrying the cross today, there will be a rejoicing. Though it may be heavy do not run away from it, those who abandoned it lived the rest of their lives in regret.

Prayer

Whatever is a cross to me, Lord let it turn to a testimony, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
