Matt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Insight and Highlight
Jesus, on the way to Golgotha, (also called Calvary) beaten and scourged. There, God's love ran red but at the same Calvary, we rejoiced when our sin washed white.
Scripture Commentaries
At the cross, God gave His only Son. Through the pain Jesus suffered, the bloodshed was God's love that ran red. We however rejoiced at Calvary when by the same bloodshed, our sin was washed white.
At Calvary, the siege was over, the curse of the tree is removed, ref Gal 3;13
Such is the mystery of God.
Whatever you saw during the agony of the carrying of the cross has now become history and more importantly a testimony.
The cross was so heavy that the Roman soldiers had to compel a man of Cyrene, Simon by name to bear Jesus' cross, Matt 27:32.
Not many people, if at all any, can you find or compel to carry your cross.
It is yours and only in Christ can you carry it successfully
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Remember the admonition of the Apostle Paul. He admonished we bear each other's burden, Gal 6:2. He further says in Gal 6:4
that each one should test their own actions, their own works, burden, etc..so that they can take pride in themselves alone.
Galatians 6:4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
The cross is to prove, test you. If you carry it with all faith in God, you will rejoice!
Remorse corner
People may offer to help but to find someone to carry it for you will take Christ's help. Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Call to Word action
Paul corroborates Jesus's word that the cross is your personal responsibility, Matt 16:24, Luke 9:23. Paul says in Galatians 6:6 For every man shall bear his own burden.
The Christian clarion duty
Prove yourself by carrying the cross then lay it down at the foot of the cross. Christ will take over.
Prayer
