.....WISDOM IS BETTER THAN STRENGTH.

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*"....WISDOM IS BETTER THAN STRENGTH."*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Prov 4:7 *Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

When you have wisdom, you have everything.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Solomon teaches us the importance of wisdom.

In a world where strength, age, status, experience, education, etc, are given much attention, he tells us the power of wisdom.

Wisdom is not only the correct application of knowledge, but it is most important we know and accept that it comes from God, 1 Kgs 3:12, Jam 1:5.

This is why the poor, the young, etc. can have wisdom because God gives wisdom liberally. He gives without reproach or finding fault. He does not give it according to any achievements but as He wants.

He tells us in Eccl 9:15-16 that a poor man's wisdom was despised. Though his wisdom was good to save a city, it was despised, and nobody remembered him again.

Solomon was saying that the people must have been asking what wisdom would come from a poor man?

lf he truly had wisdom, would his wisdom not be enough to make him rich?

In Eccl 9:14-15, he tells us,

*Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.*

*Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.*

However, Solomon started the next verse Eccl 9:16, saying an emphatic ,*Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength:..."*.

He was not contradicting the power of wisdom from a man who cannot learn or be enriched by his wisdom but was emphasizing that a man who had wisdom but was poor and despised must be highly esteemed in spite of his deplorable state!

He further went on in Eccl 9:17-18, esteeming wisdom and how invaluable it is.

In Prov 24:5, he says, *A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.*

Are you despised, though you have the word of wisdom?

Are you despised that though you are able to pray for the barren or sick yet you are baren or sick yourself?

Yes, you are 'lame', and your word is despised because people think you can not learn from your own wisdom to make you fit.

Be encouraged.

In the same words of Solomon, though he says the poor man was despised and was not remembered for his wisdom, he went on to praise his wisdom. He tells us that wisdom is better. He tells us in Prov 4:7 that wisdom is supreme.

It is more profitable to direct Eccl 10:10.

When you have it, you have everything.

*Remorse corner.*

Wisdom influences and gives more than mere physical strength.

Eccl 7:19 *Wisdom makes the wise man stronger than ten rulers in a city.*

*Call to Word action.*

Ecclesiastes 7:12 *For wisdom, like money, is a shelter, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of its owner.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Ask God for wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 9:18 *Wisdom is better than weapons of war,....."*

*Prayer.*

Lord, give me wisdom in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
